How long can I have a DIY kit at home unopened?

Our DIY KITS contain plants and moss, which are living elements, so they cannot spend many days without light. If you have purchased a KIT as a gift and there are still days until you give it to the person you are giving it to, open the KIT, take out the plants and place them in a spot where they receive indirect light until you can hand it over to the recipient.
